Dawn of the living.

And here it is, merry Christmas.. And a new picture. Its a big one, painted on some sleek and nice wood. Its what used to be modern, eaten up by the past and becomming part of it. The old pick up truck is now just as strange as the masked tribalistic persons. If you wanna live in the past you can live in the whole past, and if not, you can follow those happy modern kids in the circle in the left corner.
The past will rise again.

Eat some bodyparts

People eating people, its something to paint.. The inspiration came from african handpainted posters. They really know how to make people wanna go to the movies down there.
Its also about learning from ones elders. The older man is jazzed up in tribal robes, while the younger one might be wearing some kind of uniform, maybe for school.

Bike to hell

Another day and another picture. Some kind of spraypainted space in the background and a gang of bikers that make life hard to enjoy for people all over the place and some cosmicfantasy taking place on the right side. One woman is blue and abused and another one has a red hand to point the gangs havoc in the direction she wants it to go.
This painting was sold before it was started, so if you dream about owning it, just remember the old saying about wanting in one hand and shiting in the other and seeing wich one gets full first... Its the one with the shit.

Your problem

The clown is showing you whats what, if you speak norwegian. Ive used a new thing in the background that I call "mistystars" and its made by a foundation of regular paint, with some spray over. I hope it makes it all seem like something off a airbrushed truck from the circus. The mouseman has the red right hand in this picture and that means that its his show..

No mercy.

This is my take on a classic t-shirt print that I used to dream about ordering from "Thrasher". A bit of "Volvo-red" sprayed on the paper gives it a really cutting edge. And all you have to do is put on "wild in the streets" and dream of 80s insanity on boards with skulls under.

New deal.

Another revisitation of old ideas, from this summer. All but the blue faced grinner has been a part of my art in the past. Hes new, blue and trying to smile at you.. But its hard to smile and make it seem real for these guys, very hard to trust them and find some warmth in them. They just put on a face to get women, and sometimes it works.

Zombiehead pop-remix

That old zombiehead is back, in crazy colors and great numbers (8). I love painting that head, and I dont see an end to it in the near future.
The origins of this head might be interesting to one or two of you, so here it is.. Its my take on one of the zombies in the great movie "Zombie Holocaust". Where zombies and cannibals meet and eat.

Skate and do everything

Its going off like crazy in the skate park, with lionmen on boards ripping off heads, old-school tricks, a man eating himself and all kinds of colors on the wheels (probably from kryptonics). I was trying hard to capture the color of 80s skateing and the feeling of having your eyes stuffed with things of interest that you always did when you went into the skateshops back then. Saw the movies about how Gator and Jason Jessie went crazy, put on some "Devo" and dugg up some old thrasher magazines and this came out in the end, but not from "the end". Its never the end.

Two blue women in hot water.

A cople of new works. Small canvases about blue women whos carried off by brutes, a lifeguard with a big old horsemask from Africa and a great ape. The ape is in leage with a robot and the lifeguard is working for the planet of the apes. Ive been enjoying my "Planet of the apes" box set alot these days and its showing in my work.

Snakewomen of the west

This painting is based on the visions of a young man who asked me to paint a painting for him (for a fee). Its harder to paint something that dont spring out of your own mind, but when he told me what kind of things he wanted to happen in the picture it didnt take long before I saw that this was something I could get into. The snake comming out of a womans mouth is the highlight and something I really enjoyed painting. Its probably most peoples nightmare to have some kind of serpent forcing its way out of them..

The mask is the key.

This is the backstreet of a southern town in the 40s, the heart of Africa and the deep dark of a little caribbean island only William Seabrook would have liked to see. And what a great time I had painting it, with Nina Simones "Sinnerman" on the system and a free flow of colors and Negrita rum all over my inner and outer space. A fair bit of the inspiration behind this picture came from the first part of the "Book of the dead" about the history of the zombie in the cinema..

Diablito

Just a little devil I did to have something to do on a winters day.. Saw a nice mask that gave me the inspiration, got a small canvas and there it is.
This is one of those oriental devils that has his fangs turned outwards, dont know how that works when you bite, or even if devils do bite, but it looks interesting. He is also wearing his hair in a party in the back kinda way, with some more representable backslick action happening in the front.

The last picture of 2010

Life is far from easy for this young high school woman.. Giving an unusual birth by the lockers, with a green skull watching, not giving her much privacy at all. Those empty skulleyes know how to look deep into the action.
The girl is based on Kelli Garners high-school sexcultleader from the movie "Normal Adolescent Behavior".. She liked to hang out like that, but there was no births in the movie.
On a sidenote, Id like to point out that I know that real babies dont grow out of the belly like that when the time of birth is there. Im in touch with the reality of that situation..

Two great friends.

I painted these as christmas gifts for my good friends Knut and Henning. The idea is to capture not just the person, but also some kind of animal from inside of the guys. Henning has a manmouse, one of his own creations. This is not some kind of hint that he is a mousein any way, more a homage to his off beat drawings, humor and general vibe. Knut has a wolf on his back, full of untamed energy and some eyes that wont sleep or even stay on the same site for too long. So, its a tribute to the restless nature of this particular individual.
